Here, the river god Danube looks back and reaches up the Papal coat of arms.
The Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi (Fountain of the Four Rivers) is located at the centre of Piazza Navona. The fountain has four large marble figures representing four great rivers surrounding a replica of an Egyptian obelisk. It was designed in the Baroque style by Gian Lorenzo Bernini in 1651.
