All take in AI and AI-S lens. Only F4 can shoot with pre-AI lens especially the PC 35mm f2.8.

I feel the larger size of Nikon cameras is due to additional motor or mechanism to allow the use of legacy F mount lens. With new Z mount mirrorless setup, they should be free from this constraint. There is no need to carry the extra load when not using legacy lens.

After the F80D experience, I would rather go for models that can use AI lens so as to keep my investments on AI/AI-S lens valid. Now that the price of such cameras not really a big concern. It’s easier also as it’s possible that I may mount the unsuitable lens and something unimaginable could happen.
