My 1st XF lens. Almost on the 3rd year anniversary of my X-E3, added the 1st native lens for the camera. This is after the experience of the GF lens acquired for GFX50S. Curious to know if the native lens will work better than the vintage lens or lens from other systems.
The reason why I didn't go for a zoom is partly because I'm looking for a lowlight wide angle companion. Preferably, very compact setup. First tested and found 1/15 shutter speed difficult to get good hits. Also learned from seller that the lens might not be suitable for camera sensor more than 40MP. There are many options from f1.4 to f2.8 from Fujifilm but I have recently developed a liking on 20-21mm focal length. Since GF 35-70mm already covered for 28-55mm range, I would need something to complement on either the wide or long end. Will try out this combination first.
There are now too many options for X setup. Initially, I was deciding among Sigma 18-50mm f2.8, Tamron 17-70mm f2.8 or Fuji 16-55mm f2.8. They are a bit out of budget at the moment and each has their pros and cons. With the distortion free and reasonable sharpness (but I only double checked on the MTF charts after getting the lens. Maybe 16mm f1.4 has better f8 and f11 corner to corner but it's bigger and pricier) at most aperture, 14mm stands out other than the widest focal length.
