It's time to start posting pics from another trip! This time, the trip was my honeymoon!
For context:
In early 2017, as Ally and I were planning our wedding, Ally said she'd like to go to Newfoundland for our honeymoon. I was surprised that she'd want to go somewhere cold for our honeymoon, but I was happy that she wanted to go back to my home province, so I set forth planning the honeymoon while Ally planned the wedding itself.
We got married on May 28th, 2017.
My old reliable Canon Rebel XSi (or 450D for those of you in Europe) was 9 years old at that point, and I didn't want to risk it crapping out on my honeymoon, so in June of 2017, I bought a new Canon EOS 80D. I wasn't ready to sink money into a full-frame camera that would need a bunch of new lenses, but I was ready for an upgrade. So, these pics will be the first of my 80D pics that I'll post on Flickr.
Incidentally, this pic was taken on my second iPhone; an iPhone SE, which I got in July of 2016. I don't think I've posted any pics from this phone yet, either.
-----------
On Day 1 (August 15th, 2017), we got up at 5:30am, ate, and left at 6:53am in Ally's car, the old Honda Accord.
We got to the Park N' Fly lot to find it was closed, so we got a voucher for the Valet Lot. We took the shuttle bus to the terminal and self-checked our bags, which was very inefficient, and then went to the gate, where we waited around with other Newfoundlanders.
We got on the plane around 9:40am. We didn't get to sit together because we checked in too late, so Ally sat in the row behind me. It was a bright, sunny day for flying. I read my book, Contact by Carl Sagan, and chatted with an older woman from New York who was about to visit Newfoundland on a tour. We soon landed at Deer Lake airport, and I took this picture as we got off the plane. It was nice to be back in Newfoundland!
