I was looking at my "Popular" page today, because I'm a guy who's interested in Flickr stats, and noticed that my top 20 most-viewed pictures are all pictures that I took with my PowerShot cameras -- not a single one was taken with my Rebel XSi.
So, is this because my PowerShot pictures were better than my SLR pics? Because Flickr was more active during the time when I posted the PowerShot pics? Or because they've been online for viewing for more time?
I'm gonna go with the third one. I mean, granted, I think I was at my most creative with the camera between late 2006 and…let's say early 2008. I'm not as creative now because the quality of my SLR's lenses does the work for me -- I don't have to be creative to get good shots now. I've been doing more mainstream stuff lately, and I think I got a lot of the experimental stuff out of my system a few years ago. The quality of my pictures has increased since my experimental years, but I don't discount those old pictures, because some of them were pretty good.
Now, going back to the "Popular" page, I notice that 15 of my top 20 most-favorited pictures are from my SLR.
16 of my top 20 most-commented pictures were taken with my SLR.
Finally, 10 of my top 20 "Interesting" pictures were taken with my SLR.
I lost my train of thought, so those are just some facts to look at!

My dog, Holly, was put down today.
She'd been having trouble breathing for the past several days, and my mom took her to the vet today, who found a large mass in her abdomen. She was 13 years old, which is old for a dog her size...and she was suffering...Now she's at rest.
We went to see her as a puppy in Newfoundland when she was only a few weeks old...then around Christmas 1997, the breeder delivered her to our house.
It's hard to sum up 13 years of memories in a text box, but she was very loved.
I went through my pictures of her this evening, from my dad's place in Indianapolis, where I am now. I flew down with my sister this afternoon, and we knew that we might not see our dog again. I found several pics of her that haven't seen the light of day yet, so I'm going to make a set on Flickr soon.
This is the last picture I ever took of her.
Rest in Peace, Holly!

Holly on Halloween...2008.
--------
The show last night was good...We were given an hour to play, which is probably longer than I've ever played before without a break. Today I'm gonna go to the gym, maybe play some video games... I wish it would warm up, though.

Here's Holly sitting in the backyard of the old house, on July 20th, 2000. Taken with a Kodak Advantix T500. I'm glad I found a few pictures of that house, because given that I lived there for about 9 and a half years, I don't have many pictures of it. It's also hard to believe that Holly's almost 12 and a half years old now!
In other news, I got my old job back!
