I took this picture a few nights ago, after some snow had fallen. This is SOOC except for the crop.

--------------------------

I'm at my grandmother's house in Nova Scotia right now. Typing that online makes me think that I should be up there socializing, but I'm down in the basement with my brother, sister, and cousin watching The Simpsons.

Anyway, we flew down on WestJet; the first time I flew with them. They use 737s exclusively, and I took two pictures of one before we left Pearson...but then, like a moron, I erased my memory card, which was full of old pictures, and erased the new ones with them :S Oh well; they weren't really Flickr-worthy pictures anyway.

We landed early, and my grandmother's friend picked us up. We got into town about 45 minutes later and went straight to the church...most of the people had left by then, so we looked at some pictures and chatted with our relatives. The funeral is tomorrow. I'm distracted right now, so if what I've typed here doesn't flow well, that's why.

I took this on a walk with my sister last fall.

I went out to a winter festival today. It wasn't really my kind of fun, but it was better than staying in the house all day.

Then I went around Scarborough in search of things to take pictures of...and I found (guess what!) a railroad! Big surprise! Anyway, four or five trains went by, although I didn't get any good pictures of them. But at least now I know of another good spot for the future!

Here's a crop of another shot I got of this little baboon! I'm really happy with this picture!
----------
Today I went to work, where I helped pull 8 flower beds. Considering one of them is huge, I'm very impressed!

A little while ago I went out and got groceries...including a pre-packaged Indian meal, frozen fish, and frozen vegetables!

For those of you who don't know, I promised myself when I moved out that I would eat vegetables and fruit regularly, and try to maintain the somewhat-healthy eating habits I started when I joined the gym last year...but it's been 3 months since I moved out, and while I occasionally buy produce, I'm more often fitting the stereotypical diet of a young guy who's just moved out. Since last Thursday, I've been getting stomach pains a while after eating meals, after about 50% of the meals I eat...so maybe that's a sign...although I'm pretty sure it's a sign to cut out the foods that trigger acid production in my stomach. Either that, or I'm developing a lactose intolerance...which would suck, because I love my cereal.

Eating healthy is so hard! Do you find it to be a challenge?

Here's an old film shot from my family's trip to Japan in August of 2002. This is my brother in the yellow shirt; I can't tell who's next to him. We were there for a conference my dad was participating in. The conference was held at the building on the left, and our hotel was in the dark tower on the right.
-------------------
2011 was off to a decent start, but last night I received some bad news about a family member. I'm not going to elaborate at this point...I guess these things just happen.

On top of that, I've been making a lot of spelling mistakes in my typing over the past several days; I've been feeling a little distracted when I've been driving; and my drumming at last week's band practice was sloppy. My guitar playing is just as fast as normal, but not quite as precise as it should be. It's got me thinking that something's going wrong with my motor skills.

Today has been interesting.

I volunteered to help out a psychologist at the hospital I volunteer at on Mondays...I was late leaving, and then I was stopped by a slow-moving train about halfway there. When I got to the hospital, I assembled some questionnaires, and then did almost 3 hours of filing. I've never done filing before, and while it wasn't initially boring, I started daydreaming after a while...and to those of you who do this for a living...I salute you!

I went to the mall for a little bit afterwards, and saw one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen, just walking by. She looked like one of those girls who doesn't realize how good looking she is...not like one of those Megan Fox or Angelina Jolie types, who act and pose like all men worship the ground they walk on. I'm not into girls like that.

Anyway, after I ate, I went to my mom's house to kill time before my band practice (which got cancelled). I played Call Of Duty: Black Ops with my brother for about half an hour. I don't usually play brand-new games because I can't justify spending 70 bucks on a video game...I could when I was 12, but not now...but it was fun to try it out. Of course, there were zombies in it. I'm surprised there weren't Twilight werewolves with Justin Bieber haircuts chanting hate speech at a Tea Party convention. Pop culture, anyone?

Finally...yesterday's pic, of the Star Wars scene, got 63 views, 12 comments, and 8 favorites in one day (Thank you to all those who were part of that, by the way! :D) It still didn't make it to Explore. Granted, a few of those comments were me replying to your comments. But if that picture didn't make it to Explore, I don't know what will. The only thing I could think of is to take a picture of myself naked...I'm sure I'd get comments, but I imagine they'd be the wrong kind of comments.

But at least I got 330 total views yesterday. That's the second-highest view count I've ever had in one day, I think.
--------------------
If you don't comment on this picture, you can do this: Listen to "Glass and the Ghost Children" by The Smashing Pumpkins. It's a mysterious song…the drums in the beginning have inspired me for a decade, and the second half, despite its simplicity, is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard.
