I'm currently sitting here at Pearson airport...I decided I am going to take my laptop with me, hahaha.
I don't know if this is the plane I'm flying on, but I board in ten minutes.
I'll talk to you guys later!

Well, the time is finally here -- the start of my Chicago pictures!
Okay, so I've already posted a handful from the trip. Now it's time to post the rest of them in series. I took home 563 pictures from the trip. Unlike my Europe series, I plan to be more selective with how many pics I post, so as not to dilute the quality...but at the same time, it's fun to see these pics and remember every piece, so we'll see how many I actually end up posting.
This American Eagle Embraer is the plane I flew on; I took this pic while walking to the plane. I posted a pic of another nearby, similarly-sized American Eagle plane while I was sitting in the little downstairs lounge, waiting to board: www.flickr.com/photos/karge666/5670324577/
The other plane is an American 737. I've always liked their retro paint job.
Anyway, I'd say more about this picture, but I think I've got it covered, and I need to leave for work in a few minutes, so I hope you stay tuned for the rest of my Chicago pictures!

Here's the obligatory airplane wing pic. I've posted a few of these now...I think it's symbolic of the start of a travel adventure! I'm posting this pic moreso to remind myself of why I took pics of the wing in the first place: I noticed a crack on the leading edge of the wing, leading up to (or from) a screw. Having undoubtedly watched a few Mayday episodes beforehand, which I usually do prior to flying somewhere, I thought "Uh oh. This looks like the kind of thing that causes planes to crash." But, not wanting to make a big deal out of it, I decided to just wait it out, and I quietly told one of the stewardesses about it as we were leaving once we landed in Chicago.

Once I landed in Chicago, I took a few pictures of an MD-82, which I'm not used to seeing, and then my dad picked me up. We drove to the city, and along the Chicago River past this building, which is known as the Merchandise Mart. According to Wikipedia, it opened in 1930 and was once the largest building in the world.
Anyway, my girlfriend wants to watch a show with me, so that's all for now!

Formerly known as the Sears Tower. I like to use the old names. Like the "Rogers Center". Hogwash! It's the Skydome. I hate the Corporatization® of building names that's run rampant in recent years.
And yes, I'm aware of the Sears Tower having been a corporate name.
I'll be posting a few more pics of the Sears Tower as my Chicago series continues!
