So I got a drone for my birthday this year, and on Tuesday I took it out for the second time, on our way back from camping in Presqu'ile Provincial Park (where flying drones isn't allowed). We stopped in Colborne for gas, and because I figured I'd be able to fly it without being harassed.

So far I haven't been harassed while flying it, but I've also taken steps to avoid that in the first place.

Anyway, here's a shot of Colborne from a baseball diamond. They had some vivid red trees in that town!

I took my drone out yesterday for my third-ever attempt. This time we hit up a few spots around the city and just outside it. It was windy and I got several warnings about it on my screen, but I managed to get some good pics, even as they sky got darker. It started pecking as we drove home, so I'm glad the rain held off while I was flying it the drone!

I took my drone out on four separate occasions since getting it last month, but this morning provided the most balanced light conditions, despite the grey sky -- probably because of the grey sky!

I'm really happy with the results I got today. I also decided to take the chance, after weeks of scouring the internet, to fly in pre-amalgamation Toronto, after finally seeing enough convincing evidence that it's legal to fly my specific model of drone this close to downtown. This kind of shot is the reason I wanted to get a drone in the first place, so this is satisfying.

By the way, I say "pre-amalgamation Toronto" because I moved to Ontario after the amalgamation, so to me, the word "Toronto" includes Scarborough, Etobicoke, York, East York and North York.

I took a better pic of the subway yard last weekend, but I like this one because it has blue sky.

Today I went to my wife's hometown and shot some drone footage for the local online church service. That was a neat and unexpected result of my drone shots in the cemetery last weekend. Sometimes when you expect a door to slam in your face, it ends up opening and someone welcomes you inside!

Yesterday I went up to the cottage and spent a few hours with Dad. We walked to the lake behind the cottage, paddled across it in the canoe, and walked to this bog, where Dad wanted me to get some pics and videos to help him plan his hunting trip.

Yesterday was also the first day I flew my drone over the water. The first time, it started to drift away with the wind, so I brought it back and realized there was a compass calibration error, so I fixed that and then the drone worked fine.

I also brought it up to the highest [relative] altitude I've had it thus far, over that bog. This was taken at 118 meters.
