Ally and I went camping this week to Emily Provincial Park. After checking out on Wednesday, we drove to Omemee, where I took this picture of the Pigeon River from the old railway bridge on the Trans Canada Trail.

Today I did a most dastardly thing; a sinnerly, eeeevil thing...I flew my drone from a public park.

!!!

And you know what? I'll do it again.

Toronto is a city of scofflaws and the police don't give a flying fuck to crack down on douchebags who have machine-gun exhaust pipes, or people who change lanes over solid lines, or people who smoke weed while driving, or people who ride electric scooters (they're illegal in every capacity in Toronto), or cyclists who blow through red lights, so I'm going to fly my drone in parks like other people do and get away with it.

So I got a drone for my birthday this year, and on Tuesday I took it out for the second time, on our way back from camping in Presqu'ile Provincial Park (where flying drones isn't allowed). We stopped in Colborne for gas, and because I figured I'd be able to fly it without being harassed.

So far I haven't been harassed while flying it, but I've also taken steps to avoid that in the first place.

Anyway, here's a shot of Colborne from a baseball diamond. They had some vivid red trees in that town!

I grew up in the suburbs, and by suburbs, I mean this kind of housing, even though it was definitely within the city limits (albeit not the city in this picture). 'pparently, the words "subdivision" and "suburbs" aren't necessarily the same thing.

Anyway, this picture reminds me of the Rush song...and drawn like moths, I drifted into the city within a few years of moving out of my parents' house. I've been living near downtown Toronto for over 7 years now.

I took a better pic of the subway yard last weekend, but I like this one because it has blue sky.

Today I went to my wife's hometown and shot some drone footage for the local online church service. That was a neat and unexpected result of my drone shots in the cemetery last weekend. Sometimes when you expect a door to slam in your face, it ends up opening and someone welcomes you inside!
