My blue bottle test subject. This was taken with a vintage Canon AE-1 Program SLR with a 55mm SSC f1.2 lens with a Kodacolor II film that expired in 1985.
This particular film has been in the camera for more than 3 years. Only just finished it yesterday. There is still something magical about using film as a medium for photography.

My blue bottle series ... I've photographed this vintage bottle with various lens and camera combinations over the years.
This was taken with a vintage Canon AE-1 Program camera and FD 55mm f1.2 SSC lens. The film was Konica VX400 Monochrome that expired in October 2005.
Whilst i've taken images of the bottle using the 55mm lens before, i've never taken it with it's trademark blue glass striped away to monochrome.

My blue bottle experiment. Taken with a Samyang manual focus 135mm f2.0 lens. A great lens.
You can see the plane of focus running along the floor - so narrow, almost looks like a glass wall running alongside the bottle.

Macro Monday: "Orange and Blue" theme.
Taken with a Canon 5D mkIII coupled with a vintage Soviet Helios 58mm f2 lens.
The subjects are my trusty blue bottle that I often use in my "blue bottle" lens tests and the tiny clock was from my son's room (tough finding a decent orange subject for this one!).

My blue test bottle for various camera/ lens combinations. This was taken with a vintage 1980's Canon T80 film camera with a AC50mm f1.8 lens. The T80 was the world's first autofocus SLR camera - fun to use, but it lacks any real manual over-ride.
