First flown with the Airbus test registration F-WWCB, this aircraft was delivered to Wardair Canada as C-GIWD in May-88. Wardair Canada was merged into Canadian Airlines International in Oct-89.
The aircraft was sold to Polaris Leasing in Aug-91. Later that month it was leased to Kuwait Airways as A6-KUC and based in Dubai (this was at the time of the 1st Gulf War and most of Kuwait Airways aircraft had been seized by Iraq).
It was returned to Polaris in Sep-93 and was re-registered D-APON the following month. In Dec-93 it was leased to Royal Nepal Airlines, still as D-APON and flown by German crew. It returned to Polaris in May-96.
In Jul-96 the aircraft was leased to Oasis Airlines International with the temporary Spanish registration EC-396 and re-registered EC-GIL in Sep-96. Oasis didn't last and the aircraft was repossessed in Nov-96 and stored at Bristol-Filton, UK. (Oasis ceased operations in Dec-96).
It was re-registered N472GE in Dec-97 and remained stored at Filton. In Jun-98 the aircraft was leased to Aeroflot Russian Airlines as VP-BAF. It returned to the lessor in Aug-03. In Sep-03 it was leased to TAP Air Portugal as CS-TEZ.
It was returned to the lessor in Apr-06 and immediately sold to Air Transat as C-GTSF. after almost 30 years in service, the aircraft was permanently retired at Montreal-Mirabel, Canada in Oct-17. The registration was cancelled in Apr-18.
Note: While doing post heavy-maintenance full power engine runs at Rio de Janeiro-Galileo, Brasil on 13-Dec-09, it jumped the chocks, travelled across the maintenance ramp demolishing lamps and equipment with it's wings and engines before ending up in adjacent forested ground. It was badly damaged but was repaired and returned to service in Mar-10.
