After a weekend of events in the Chicagoland area, NKP 765 begins its trek home as it passes through Elmwood Park, IL on a beautiful Summer evening. The train is heading west for Franklin Park where it will get on the Indiana Harbor Belt to get back on the Norfolk Southern at Chicago Ridge so it can head back home to Fort Wayne, IN. During the cleanup process on the second to last trip to Taconite Harbor, the crew backed the F unit 5-pack onto the dormant dock one last time for some photo ops. The last train to dump ore at Taconite Harbor was in September & October of 2004 when the line was reopened for a limited shipment. Oct 14, 2008
