One of the most impressive and accessible canyons in Colorado with a 14.4 mile bike trail snaking along the Colorado River and old Denver & Rio Grande. This photo was taken as the Hanging Lake Trailhead shortly after sunset. The railroad runs along the rock wall to the left cutting through a tunnel and under I70 just out of sight in the background. Just 3 nights later, a major rock slide shut down I70 at this location punching holes in the highway with boulders the size of small cars. Feb 12, 2016
