The Southend Pier Railway is a mixed battery-electric and diesel-hydraulic passenger-carrying railway set to 3 foot gauge track in the City of Southend-on-Sea, Essex, UK.

There are currently three operational passenger trains plus a "tram" used for maintenance work. Two of these sets, built by Severn Lamb Engineering are battery electric and were delivered in 2018. Operational issues mean that one set (Sir Martin Amess) is currently out of use. Instead, one of the 1984 Severn-Lamb diesel-hydraulic sets ("Beta - Sir William Heygate") has been retained in traffic.

The other 1984 train set is dispersed across the Pier Head as static accommodation, with the loco ("Alpha" - Sir John Betjemen) being stripped for spares to keep Bravo going. The railway is owned and operated by Southend Borough Council (A Unitary Authority) through the Pier & Foreshore Department.
