Ms. K and I are back from our mini trip this week to western Maryland and West Virginia. Pretty nice time away ... and lots of photos. Visited some places we have been before, and explored many new areas as well. We actually started out trip with a sunrise stop by the Francis Scott Key Bridge ... posts to come ... but I thought I would start out with processing some of the shots taken at the Antietam Battlefield. Lots of fences there, so thought this was a good start for HFF.

The house was built in the 1780s as part of a prosperous mill complex and is one of the few original homes on the battlefield that is open to the public. It was neat to explore this location and others on the battlefield. It was also interesting framing up the house and fence there ... a very pretty sight for such a bloody day in the Civil War.
