Here is an end of winter river side view taken today at Gunpowder Falls State Park, Maryland. This along the river there north of Route 1. With the recent rain (that should have been snow but wasn't) the river was flowing a nice clear greenish tint today. Blue skies with just a few white clouds made for a nice hike. Many folks were also out on this day that reached into the high 50's, and felt like "Summer". Spring is getting close folks!

Here is a long exposure taken with my Hoya ND400 (9 Stop) filter.

5 Minute exposure along the bank of the river there in Maryland. You can feel winter giving up now, and spring trying to take a foothold. Did not have many clouds around yesterday, so took advantage of the few that happened to be passing by with this extra long exposure.

Overall really pleased with the smooth water flow and the smooth reflections of the sky and trees / shadows there on the water. Clouds look nice as well streaming in the sky. Unfortunately there was a small breeze every so often, and that in the end blew a little during this shot, moving the smaller branches just a little. They give a sense of motion, so if you are not too distracted by them, I guess not too bad.

Farther up the Gunpowder River along the trail, the water is a little deeper and calmer with the flow. There was still some small wind and flow dispersion on the surface of the water, so the long exposure here helped smooth that out and really pull out the nice reflection there in the water of the trees, sun and sky. It also allows for you to see down into the water at the dead trees and rocks that are beneath.

Here is a bulb capture taken along the bank of the Gunpowder River. I liked this location with the rocks sticking out of the river flow and the rocks that can be seen below the flow. Last of the clouds were overhead as well for the day, and they are spreadout there with the longer exposure.

Liked this scene with the winter trees and the sunlight / tree shadows playing out accross the water. Soon spring time will fill these trees with leaves, and this will be more in shadow by then.

Liked this vertical comp along the Gunpowder River in Maryland with the fallen trees along the river bank. Using the 400ND filter I was able to slow down the water and smooth it out some as well as get a nice capture of the late day sunlight coming in through the bank of trees to the far right of the frame across the river.
