Our first night in Acadia, Maine I spent along the coast catching the evening lighting on the rocks.

One of my first captures taken in Acadia National Park from this past summer's trip to Maine. We arrived mid afternoon, and wanted to scope out some shooting locations for morning and evening before taking a nap. It was a pretty day 'at the beach' and with the tide and swells there were some nice crashes against the rocks. I like this area of the Park as it is more remote and less visited by the daily crowds in the summer. Schooner Point is a must in the day time, as you can explore with just a few others around as well. This also happens to be one fine sunrise location too as I found out the last time here in 2012. Couple of those shots shown below in the comments.

The late day lighting at sunset was just lovely there on the rocks. Was very excited to be in this spot for sunset. So many possible compositions and lighting conditions that changed with the minutes. You can imagine the tripod legs at a crazy angle here, and me legs spread out onto the rock ledges to get this perspective ... but I really liked the textures and lighting on the rocks, and from this location was able to get in close on these rocks, at the same time giving an expansive view of the coastline there in Maine as well.

Image 52 in this series of the capturing of the BULB capture. Here it is of pretty Acadia, Maine in monotone afternoon. The LCD screen is photoshopped in from the long exposure capture being taken at this time. This is first in this series that delves into the world of B&W. Fitting for this mid-day capture on the pretty rocks under some sunny conditions.
