When we first arrive at Lake Mono, wanted to make an excursion in the middle of the day to scout out the area and figure good spots for sunset, sunrise, etc.
Pulled out the CPL filter while there in the midday lighting, and really liked the results (in color) ... and figured would make some interesting black and white images as well.
Here is one of the Tufa looking back at the mountains that lie along the western edge of Lake Mono.

Used the 10 Stop here to smooth out the water a little as the sun was setting at Lake Mono.

The 6 Stop ND worked well here smoothing out the water just a little to bring out the details there under the lake's surface. The patterns in the lake bottom were very cool on this evening with the smoother clear water. Made for some nice patterns that at shore to lead into the Tufa there under the pretty end of the day lighting.
