Wamboin, NSW, Australia.

We found this spectacular blue and green cuckoo wasp in the garden. Confirmed as a Large Cuckoo Wasp (thanks Steve and Bernhard) - these wasps lay their eggs in the nest of other wasps. The larvae then either eat the food provided by the host wasp or eat the host larvae.
