This is the nicest quarters on the Arthur Foss historic tug. This room is large in comparison to the basic crew quarters.

The 112 foot long Arthur Foss tug was constructed in 1889 and has lived a long and productive life. According to a recent Seattle Times article about her, in her early days, she assisted ships in crossing the Columbia River bar, carried gold miners to Alaska, worked for the Navy in WWII, worked for the timber industry and starred in the 1933 movie, "Tugboat Annie". Today, she is swathed in plastic sheeting to protect her from the relentless Seattle winter rain. Under the plastic, she is slowly being restored. The Lotus is a 92 foot cruising houseboat built in 1909. She was docked at the Historic Ships Wharf near MOHAI and the Center for Wooden Boats.

Seven historic ships are docked at the Historic Ships Wharf behind MOHAI. I was able to board three of the ships before visiting the Opening Day of MOHAI in it's new location in the former Naval Armory.
