This globe was sculpted by Seattle artist Obadinah Heavner for the 1990 Microsoft Annual Report. Note the little squares are the old style computer monitors! So much has changed since 1990. For more information about the art of Obahdinah see www.obadinah.com/
The sculpture is intended to convey the Microsoft mission to put "a computer on every desk and in every home."
Since Bill Gates was raised in Seattle, a room in MOHAI is devoted to the contributions of Microsoft to Seattle and the rest of the world.

The Center for Wooden Boats is next to MOHAI. And beyond the Center are the larger and newer boats and the lights of the neighborhoods above Lake Union.

Carroll's Clock was built in 1913 and stood on Fourth Avenue in downtown Seattle until 2008 when Carroll's Jewelry went out of business. The family donated the clock to the Museum of History and Industry.
The clock traveled with the museum to it's new location in the former Naval Armory. The Naval Armory was originally constructed by the Works Progress Adminstration (WPA) in 1941-42. The site was acquired by the City of Seattle in 2000 and remodeled for the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI). The Grand Opening of the new site for the museum was last weekend.
