Alder Lake is one of many lakes the highway passes on the way to Mt. Ranier. Low water exposed many stumps of massive trees that once stood here before logging decimated the old growth forests.

This volunteer searched through the drawers of parts for just the right piece for the job on which he was working at the Mt. Ranier Scenic Railroad Museum. Most of the work to make the trains operable is done by volunteers.
