The falls were covered with icicles. Even though it was cold, the sun was hitting the icicles and causing them to break and splatter down the waterfall. It was dangerous to get too close. This 226 foot drop waterfall has been given a more politically correct name of Teneriffe Falls.

We went a little way off trail to see one of my favorite spots where Teneriffe Creek travels between moss covered boulders. This time the boulders were covered in icicles and a dusting of snow.

In winter, the days are so short dusk begins in mid-afternoon. The sun was fading as we hiked down the trail after visiting Teneriffe Falls, originally known as Kamikaze Falls. This is a nice 6 mile hike with almost 1500 feet elevation gain.

At dusk, we stopped at the Mill Pond. The mill is long gone but Mt. Si was visible in the distance. Mt. Si was featured in the TV series Twin Peaks.
