The Palm House at the Conservatory contains a multiplicity of fabulous orchids. The orchid collection was initiated by a gift in 1921. I am impressed with the longevity of these beauties!

The Seasonal Display House at the Volunteer Park Conservatory was filled with azalea and coleus. Spring is coming!
The Conservatory was constructed in 1912 and is operated under the auspices of the City of Seattle Parks and Recreation Department. As funds allow, the structure has been undergoing renovation since 1980.

The Conservatory at Volunteer Park in Seattle was originally constructed in 1912. While the structures have been undergoing renovation since 1980 as funds allow, the buildings are showing signs of age. The day we visited was very rainy and leaks were present in a number of locations. Happily, water droplets fell on some of the flowers, nice for photography, not so good for the structure.
