Sadly I had to forgo my plan to visit covered bridges and waterfalls in southern Oregon so we could make an effort to cross 4700 foot high Siskiyou Pass between storms. It had been snowing in the morning with chains required but by the time we got there the sun was shining. We hit some flakes and fog on the other side but nothing serious.
Used a Topaz Impressions filter for processing.

Not much was happening at Walker Pass, elevation 5,250 feet. The pass provided a quiet graveyard for this dump truck.
Walker Pass is near an intersection with the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). Thru-hikers crossing Highway 178 near Walker Pass enter the longest roadless section of the PCT.
Happy Truck Thursday!

Wilbur has been threatening to get me out of bed again at 4 am so we can get some dawn images. I am glad he did when we were at Death Valley as it was worth the long drive and little sleep to see the sun come up at this enormous volcanic crater.

Twenty miles on rough dirt road reaches the Teakettle Junction. The sky was blue and the teakettles colorful. We took the side road to the Lost Burro Mine before continuing on for six more miles to the Racetrack. The roads don't look bad here. But believe me, these roads often barely qualify as a road in my opinion as the ruts, rocks, drops and washboards make for an exceedingly miserable trip. I'd go to the Racetrack again if I could helicopter in. Taking that horrible road again is out of the question!
Happy Saturated Saturday!
