The wreck of the Peter Iredale is a popular tourist attraction at sunset. The ship was a 285 foot long four-masted steel sailing vessel that ran ashore October 25, 1906, on the Oregon coast en route to the Columbia River.

Fort Stevens State Park in Oregon contains the remains of a number of military installations from the Civil War to WW II. It is the location of the only Japanese attack on the mainland during WW II.

The Peter Iredale was a four masted sailing ship that went aground in 1906 on the Oregon coast in a storm four miles south of the Columbia River.
