Once again back to New Year's Day and Silver Falls State Park. While I was finishing the aforementioned roll of Phoenix in my Hasselblad (see previous post) I was also deciding to use a roll of Lomochrome Purple in my Fuji G617.

Lomochrome Purple is a weird film. I mean, of course it is a weird film - it swaps greens into magenta purple hues. But because it is this weird, quirky film from Lomography, who really advertise using it in weird, quirky, generally plastic cameras it always feels a bit counterintuitive to load it into one of my "nice" cameras. But I don't even know where that whole notion comes from. I just know it exists. And naturally I try to pay attention to things that like while counterintuitively trying not to think about these things too much. I can sometimes succeed. Running a roll of Purple through the Fuji is to simultaneously remind myself to always be ready to try something creative and to set aside other presuppositions that get in the way of just having fun.

So here I was having fun... and trying to do something a bit out of my usual... even though using Lomochrome Purple is not too unusual for me as I quite like this and the Turquoise films.

They both are the "Padawan" of the Swordsmith house of Fujiwara Kanefusa blacksmith shop, which is now on the 26th generation started 700 years ago.
