At least 3 cars on the eastbound side of I-10 are pacing 3751 as she steams towards San Bernardino. It's quite a juxtoposition to see mainline steam right in the middle of a busy interstate.

Santa Fe 3751 backs her train up towards Union Station to pick up excited passengers. She will then steam east to take them to the San Bernardino Railroad Days. Here the cylinder cocks are open to vent any possible condensation in the cylinders. She is buring very clean with almost no smoke coming out the stack, just steam.

Steam down the freeway is not something you see every day, so it's no surprise that 3751 is effectively causing a break in traffic as a line of cars paces the locomotive which was running slower than traffic. Here though she has opened up the throttle and is accelerating towards Union Station. 3751 was participating in the San Bernardino Railroad Days with an excursion to SB on 4/16 and the return today. Such a magnificent sight to see.
