One of the small but very powerful rack railway steam locos awaiting its ascent of the Rothorn. Seen at the terminus station at Brienz.
The line is 7.6km long and rises 1678m in that distance, it is built to a gauge of 800mm and the average gradient is approx 1 in 4 1/2. The summit station is at 2244m above sea level.
