HANSEN DAM - LAFD responded to a brush fire at 3:50 PM on the 11700 block of West Foothill Boulevard on May 9, 2022. Despite light-to-moderate winds, a well coordinated air attack combined with a relentless ground-based offense with firefighting handlines and hand tools by LAFD personnel, assisted by LACoFD, has fully contained the Hansen Fire to a total of approximately 15 acres of brush, in two hours and 10 minutes. There were no injuries, and no structures damaged. The fire's specific cause is under investigation.
