GREEN MEADOWS - The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a one-story single-family home with heavy smoke showing on the 1100 block of East 118th Street at 11:34 PM on June 4, 2024. Crews made entry with hose lines and discovered heavy fire in the attic. Firefighters ventilated (cut holes in) the roof to allow the heavy smoke to escape, while firefighters below made access through the ceiling to extinguish the flames in 19 minutes. No reported injuries. Cause under investigation.
