At 3:18 on August 19, 2024 the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 1010 block of W Toluca Lake Ave in Toluca Lake.

77 firefighters took just 42 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish heavy fire that consumed the first and second floors of a 2,200 square foot two-story home (built 1960).

The systematic search by firefighters for four missing pet cats, sadly led to two of the felines discovered deceased within the heavily burnt residence. There were no human injuries reported.
