From the Great Railfan Trip of 2001.

After spending the morning shooting NBEC between Jaquet River and Nepisiguit Jct., we headed across the province to Plaster Rock to intercept CN train 122. It's been 23 years since that day, but as I recall I had barely enough time after we arrived to climb on a pile of used ties and bang off this shot of Dash-9 2538 and an SD40-2W roaring past the east end of the siding with the intermodal train for Moncton.

We settled for just this one shot of 122, since 149 was about to make an appearance. Later we got multiple sets of 305 and 120 before the sun finally set that day.

Fuji Provia 100F scan.

The TATA Port Talbot No. 5 blast furnace replaced the original furnace, which was devastated in the explosion of November 2001 that claimed the lives of three men and left a dozen other employees seriously injured. Two of TATA's internal shunting locomotives and torpedo wagons are seen at the furnace in May 2008, including veteran Brush-Bagnall '903' (W/No.3065 built in 1955).
