the cheapest is the Intermountain which has nice detail however not prototypically correct and very light in weight but a good runner. The Atlas is medium priced great proto detail with a great drive and the all round best value for the dollar. The Athearn has the nicest proto detail, a bit fragile,and runs like an Athearn! I have Tsunami sound in the Atlas and Athearn... Everyone's ear is different.
