peter lyons (on the left) is our local photo-boater, getting out there in his motorboat to take excellent photos of every race on the bay -- here he's snapping pictures of us, heading left to right, and el gavilan, heading right to left -- sunday's pursuit race goes around alcatraz & angel island, but boats can choose which direction they want to take.

el gavilan is gordie's mom's boat, & was being driven by his brother chris -- so whichever way peter shot, he was photographing a Nash boat!

we did sunday's race clockwise -- starting near RYC, heading around alcatraz first, then heading north to angel island -- we put our kite up pretty early (once we got a massive twist sorted out), when it was a VERY tight reach, and had trouble staying on control -- so catherine and dylan are watching the sail, hoping it fills & gets us around the corner of the island...

hooray, we've rounded angel island, & now it's a downwind sprint across the bay to the finish at RYC again -- i was at the back of the boat gybing the mainsail, so managed to get this photo of ALL of the other crew as we rocketed along!
