the former Horick Ranch at Point Reyes -- I spent yesterday working in the park's archives, and found some key information from 1999 -- the agency has long claimed that the family squabbled amongst themselves and never came to any agreement about the fate of this ranch, more or less abandoning it -- the documents definitively show that not to be true.
furthermore, the key documents were conspicuously absent from the archive folders of D Ranch correspondence, but were instead found in a separate archive box containing information sent to the Citizens Advisory Commission in October 1999.
