Peter was my great-grandfather, born in 1860 -- his brother William i have no info about except that he became a railroad man. They were born in Acton Vale, Quebec -- Peter lived most of his adult life in Burlington VT, as a dentist, and died in 1951 in Newark, NJ.

no date, on the back is written very faintly, "my mother - P.G. Godfrey" -- so this is my great-great grandmother Mary Anne Oakes Godfrey, born in 1823, died in 1899 in Winooski, VT. she had TWELVE children! including my great-grandfather Peter George Godfrey.

this is my great-great grandfather -- born in Ireland in 1809, died in Acton Vale, Quebec, in 1886. He and his wife Mary Anne Oakes had 12 children, at least three of whom were doctors, and one dentist: my great-grandfather Peter Godfrey.

this photo is undated, and he was likely in Galena, Ill. visiting his son Henry Townsend Godfrey, MD, who lived and practiced medicine there.
