A recent walk in the woods on a foggy day has delivered up sooooooo many images. I've been processing them for the past few days and I'm realising that I will never be able to post all the images that I like. So what better way to squeeze a few more images onto Flickr than to present them as a triptych. And something a little different in terms of my usual white-framed presentation of my images.

Yesterday's foggy conditions threw up some wonderful photo opportunities including this wonderful old tree in a field near some woodland I went for a walk in.

It feels like autumn is well and truly over here in south east England, the leaves are mostly off the trees and the chill in the air speaks to us of winter. This was taken about a week ago on Coulsdon Common, a beautiful nature area not far from where I live. Very hilly with lots of old growth trees.

So, as most will know England returned to lockdown last week. Although slightly less restrictive than the lockdown we had in the spring for me personally it's not much different. I'm allowed out for food, medical attention, and exercise and that's about it. I'm not complaining, it needs to be done. So here I go again, looking for photographic locations within easy riding distance on my bicycle. Banstead woods, where this was taken, falls into that category.

So off I went a few days ago with a couple of vintage lenses to see if I could find anything of interest. The colour was quite spectacular, even now that the leaves have mostly fallen. And there are so many of these great old trees in these woods that stand out. The old Russian built Helios lens that I had with me did a fine job of rendering the beautiful colours and it turned out to be a good choice for the day. They tell us the vaccine is coming but who knows when exactly so for the moment at least I'll be spending more time in places like this.
