The Grade II Listed Ashley Court is a small country house and noted as being of architectural and historical interest. It dates from the early 19th century, possibly incorporating remains of a 1657 house built by John Upcott, a Tiverton wool merchant, all built within part of what was once Henry II’s hunting park at Tiverton.

Built in the 1550s by Sir Richard Bampfylde, the Tudor Poltimore House was occupied by the Bampfylde family until 1920, it fell into a state of disrepair in the 2nd half of the 20th century. It is Grade II Listed and missed out on the BBC's Restoration programme. It now has a dedicated team of volunteers trying to raise funds for its upkeep. In later years it was both a school and a hospital. This is an authentic Tudor courtyard. Any millionaires out there willing to invest?
