There was a manor house here once called Little Fulford. Sir William Peryam (1534-1604) who purchased the estate built Little Fulford and left it to his daughters who sold it to their uncle Sir John Peryam. It was later rebuilt and renamed Shobrook House, although that house was destroyed by fire in 1945.
