Recorded at Marshfield on the South Wales Main Line, Class 56 56052 had charge of the 6V37 SX 10:03 Sheerness to Cardiff Tidal Sidings, Allied Steel & Wire (ASW) service.
Built at BREL Doncaster Works, 56052 entered service in December 1978. The Construction Sector decals confirmed the locomotive to have been a member of the Class 56 fleet allocated to aggregates traffic. Displaced by the arrival of the GM Class 59s, a number of the these Type 5s found work on the Trainload Metals workings centred on South Wales.
