Close-up of nose-art on a Douglas DC-3 Dakota that took part in the Dak's over Normandy event for the anniversary of D-Day. Captured on a very wet day at Prestwick International Airport, Ayr, Scotland, in May 2019.
The combination of polished aluminium, rivets and raindrops looked absolutely beautiful all over this stunning metal bird of the skies. Enjoy!
Having just heard the news coming out of The United States of America I felt that this was an apt upload. Politics aside, with the increasing devastation of our climate rapidly changing I could not imagine the damage being done with another four years of climate change denial from the most powerful nation on earth.
By all means you are free to hold your own opinions but I will not tolerate personal insults being levelled at anyone in the comments, I have deleted two and have now blocked further commenting. If we cannot be civil to each other despite differing opinions then there is little hope left for humanity.
The road ahead is long but the skies appear to be a little brighter and bluer for humanity now. Stay safe everyone!

Seafront photography from Barassie Beach, Troon, Scotland.
I was determined to get at least one photograph to post from April this year after missing the whole of the month of March.
The beach may be just a mile from home but with my PTSD even leaving the house can sometimes be a monumental, and even impossible, challenge. My goal for this day was just to get down to the beach but I wasn't leaving without my camera in hand.
In hindsight I should have taken my 200mm telephoto. The tide was right out and on the turn. Here I was half way out to the sea and stopped from going any further by deeper than usual tidal channels in the sand. I wasn't prepared to get my walking boots fully soaked and it was far too cold to take them off. A 30mph wind from the Northwest cut through to the bone.
It was great to see a few kiteboarders making the most of the wind. Barassie beach being a bit of a hub for kiteboarding and windsurfing. Importantly I managed to get outside and enjoy some fresh air. That in itself took a huge effort and is something I can be proud of. Enjoy!
