I remember with perfect clarity where, when and how on 11th September 2001. I was watching live news coverage from moments after the North Tower was struck. I was glued to my seat in horror watching the whole thing unfold in near disbelief. There were many surreal moments where I briefly felt that this surely could not be real.

My thoughts are with everyone affected today but are especially with those of the family, friends and colleagues of all first responders on that day - an aspect that was, and always will be, very deeply close to my heart.

Please excuse the quality of the image. I'd just bought my first digital camera and didn't really understand what I was doing with it as opposed to the old film days so, sadly, this is the best shot I have of this view. Hopefully one day I may return to capture the heart of New York with the photographic justice it deserves.
