The diesel locomotive is a 2x3000 HP double engine of the 2TE10M series. 3513 units were built in Luhansk, Ukraine, between 1961 and 1996.

Am Abend des 14.06.2023 zog die EBS 132 293 mit klasse Sound ihren leeren K+S Zug aus Stralsund nach Erfurt. In Kummerow klickte nach Gewonnenem Wolkenlotto der Auslöser, die Lok ist seit August 2023 bei Skinestrail in Estland im Einsatz und arbeitet im 48. Betriebsjahr.
