Quality Line route 413: Morden Station - Sutton, Bushey Road
Approaching Stonecot Hill / Garth Road (HA)

Quality Line started their new contract to route 413 on 3 December 2016. New Citaro Ks, MCS01-09, were introduced to Epsom (EB), with demonstrator BU13 ZVE re-coded MCS10 as a surplus acquisition.

Completely unaware of the extra Bank Holiday, I was surprised with the infrequency of the service with only 3 buses on average running. Briefly discussing this with a similarly confused driver, he went on to commend the drive of the buses and mutually agreed with the spacious driver's cab. He further approved of the automatic handbrake and easy-to-use electronic controls, although he also suggested adjusting to the sharper brakes of the buses.

Most of the drivers along the route came from the 463, so the larger build of the MCSs are also something they are adapting to and marks are said to be found on some of these new buses already to showcase this! Nevertheless, despite the low frequencies experienced today, a disincentive for MCS10 to come out on the 411 which I was looking forward to checking out, the buses are very comfortable and smooth. Quality Line continue to justify their name.
