London General route 88: Camden Town, Camden Gardens - Clapham Common

Does this make sense: route 88 is a thirty-five (give or take) stop route which begins at Camden Gardens. Seven stops later sees it stop at Warren Street Station / Euston Road. That's a fifth of the route done and around a five minute journey seeing as no-one barely occupies Pratt Street (V), two stops later makes a quick stop for the two or three passengers waiting at Silverdale (W) - commonly skips this stop also - then skips Robert Street (S-bound) before arriving at Warren Street Station / Euston Road (U). Pointless much? If the bus needs to return to the garage, why operate for seven stops and then go straight - why can't they go straight from the beginning? Some drivers even make a seven-stop return to Camden Gardens after curtailing here!
