Transdev London Sovereign route 13: Aldwych - Golders Green Station

Route 13 was allocated with the Scania OmniDekka model, with the occasional Scania OmniCity services. The route was announced to be getting hybrids due for service on the 31 August 2013 - speculation was that Borismasters and Enviro400Hs were also candidates, but Transdev decided to purchase their first Volvo B5LHs on the Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 bodywork.
As said, due to commence service on 31 August, sightings of these new buses in service began around three weeks early. These new vehicles gradually increased in numbers as contract renewal date came closer.
The route has a current shared service of existing Scania OmniDekkas and Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B5L hybrids whilst its night service (which is extended from Golders Green to North Finchley Bus Station) is now a fully hybrid allocated route.
Twenty-three new Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B5L hybrids were purchased, fleetcoded VH1-23. VH1-11 have the registration code BD13, whilst VH12-23 have the registration code BT13. The stylish new moquette of rich crimson with gold ellipses has been specified for these buses, contrasting with the light grey panels and flooring which will for sure attract the attention and hopefully add to the comfort of local passengers.
Did You Know: VH12-23 are the only batch of vehicles in London to have a registration sequence that matches up with their garage code (Edgware 'BT'), the route they are entering service on (route 13) and the year of them entering service (2013).
