London Buses route 205E: Bow Church - Baker Street
Approaching Baker Street (W)
The last couple of days have seen a Tube Strike go ahead due to protesting London Underground workers in disagreement over planned closures of ticket offices and job cuts. Owing to the Tube Strike is the sudden increase of demand for London's buses, meaning for these two days only the 100% red rule can fortunately be ignored for our conventional bus services. Buses from other areas of south east England have graced themselves onto a few of our routes, one of these being a Stagecoach Hampshire owned Alexander ALX400 bodied Dennis Trident 2 serving an extra route 205 service from Bow Church to Baker Street.

TA11 (V311 KGW) parked behind had green LED destination boards - they were not good-looking at all.

And once again, pictured is a Borismaster hiding away from the spotlight as the Routemaster is the primary focus of this photo.

My favourite sees Stephensons Buses from Essex and Suffolk loan a few of their recent Alexander Dennis Enviro400 buses onto the extra service of route 91. Having the great fortune of journeying onboard 604 (EU13 EBL) which followed 603 (EU13 EBK) for as long as I was with them for (along the route, arriving at Trafalgar Square and leaving for Holloway at the same time as each other). I recognised the engine and slightly lifted rear similar to that of the Scania N230UD chassis seen on the East Lancs Olympus buses currently allocated to Metroline Travel route 7.
I already knew the Scania engine was powerful, but on an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 not only does it make the quite heavy bodywork more agile (as I stated with the East Lancs Olympus buses, although their light bodywork also allows further agility) but more beasty and accelerative, normally very contradicting adjectives when referring to vehicles but then that's what Scania do best!
