Presenting to my Photostream and Flickr viewers the new Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC hybrid, purchased by Metroline for their new contract of retained route 332.
The new Enviro400 comes with a new design but still carries the smooth Enviro-curves we're accustomed to. With many mechanical omissions and additions, the most notable is the removal of the seat behind the driver saloon for a more commodious driving experience. Notwithstanding this, the interior has minor difference to current Enviro400s but enthusiasts should be able to distinguish the minor differences, nevertheless.
Metroline will be introducing TEH2072-2087 to service once drivers have been type trained. Onto which route, we'll have to wait and see as it has been rumoured route 16 is the favour but the engineers here are not prone to strict allocations so, although they do not overdo "odd-workings", a start on either route and appearances on other routes will be an exciting prospect, anyway!

Metroline route 332: Brent Park, Superstores - Paddington, Bishop's Bridge

Metroline retained route 332 back in October with new double-decker hybrid buses. Later announced the route to be allocated with the new Alexander Dennis Enviro400H MMC, the buses have only started service now after about four months since the first few buses from batch TEH2072-2087 started getting built - and it has been worth the wait.
Route 332 is my second favourite bus route and one of my daily commutes. Today, I was privileged with my journey home aboard TEH2081 (LK15 CSZ), pictured. Smooth is an expected adjective for any hybrid bus and there was no disappointment there. From a passenger and enthusiast perspective, I was surprise with the similarities of driveline and engine to all previous TEHs with the original Enviro400 design.
Abellio disappointed me with their introduction of the new Enviro400H MMC on routes 109 and 415 a few weeks ago, 2487-2513, 2514 and 2515-2522 louder than the average hybrid bus and suggested by other enthusiasts to be restricted. However, as much as I gradually got annoyed by the wait, the new TEHs are quality buses and a better representation of Alexander Dennis' well-designed innovation to their Enviro-series.

Metroline route 332: Paddington, Bishop's Bridge - Brent Park, Superstores

Metroline retained route 332 back in October with new double-decker hybrid buses. Later announced the route to be allocated with the new Alexander Dennis Enviro400H MMC, the buses have only started service now after about four months since the first few buses from batch TEH2072-2087 started getting built - and it has been worth the wait.
Following the previously photographed TEH2081 (LK15 CSZ) was TEH2082 (LK15 CTE) on the first day of service. TEH2081 was actually not logged into iBus so I was a bit surprised seeing this one appear: I was so excited seeing a new TEH on the 332 (checking data on its new allocation), I did not focus on the fleetcode, hence when TEH2081 arrived I just assumed that was the bus I saw listed in service earlier!
As undoubtedly the smartest-looking Enviro400 MMC so far, Metroline's new TEHs look a bit dull from the outset courtesy of the displays. However, this is a minor that is probably influenced by the fact I need to get used to these buses.
The TEs previously allocated to the route are my favourite Enviro400s in London, so I did not mind waiting longer for the new buses because the 60-reg TEs are quality! I will miss them when TEH2072-2087 are fully introduced, however the TEs will have been replaced by new buses that will continue the quality of service on route 332.

Spent a few tiresome hours trying to get a good photo of the new buses for route 332. Confidence in my photography restored, I accomplished this photo. The buses give a beautiful gloom at night with their nicely illuminated interior. The new TEHs are fast and are simply top quality.
