Abellio London route N109: Oxford Circus - Croydon, Town Centre

Abellio London introduced the new Alexander Dennis Enviro400H MMC to London with their new contract to route 109/N109, a former Arriva London route from Brixton (BN), at the end of January. 2487-2513 are the service's new allocation, based at Beddington Cross (BC).
The tender was quite a surprise to many, route 109 considered one of Arriva London's top routes. Nevertheless, the high frequency route has been even more frequent with Abellio London and whilst overabundant bunching of buses has not been beneficial for the overall service, the new buses have been positively discussed about by drivers and enthusiasts alike.

2506 (YY64 TZF) parked ahead out of the photo arrived here first, but was the second bus to start service on the N109 tonight with 2508 (YY64 TZH) following. I have to thank both drivers for the enthusiastic and informative conversations and for turning the displays on way before readying for service. (2506 photo didn't come out so good, hence I haven't put it on my Photostream.)
2508 (YY64 TZH) is pictured above parked at the Old Cavendish Place bus stand for Oxford Circus, resting alike its driver a good hour or so before it is due to start service on the N109 to Croydon Town Centre.

Abellio London route 109: Croydon, Town Centre - Brixton Station

The new Alexander Dennis Enviro400H MMC has been mostly positively talked about, however I was surprisingly unimpressed with the first batch of the buses for London on route 109.
I found the bus to be louder than all original Enviro400 hybrid buses I have been on. The bus had the spacious atmosphere commended in reviews, however felt heavy under acceleration, meaning if the bus was going fast it was only reaching 25mph before having to slow down for traffic.
Additionally, the faster the bus went the louder the engine, with similar engine sounds to the Wright Gemini 2 except elements of the Enviro400 hybrid engine have been maintained courtesy of the one-gear acceleration accustomed to ADL hybrid buses, so there was some benefit for the disappointing acceleration.
The design wins big over the quality of the bus, however top deck front view is not the greatest as it is obscured slightly by the new curves of the Enviro400 design if you sit on the inside seats. Do try out these buses, yourself, though: they're worth a try!
